Snetterton May 29th 1967
When I was asked me to
give an account of which race I considered to be the race of my life, I had to give serious consideration to a career, which
spanned the best part of 10 years as a professional driver. Not only those years were to be considered but there were also
2-3 years as an amateur one as well. At this time of life it’s hard to remember what I had for breakfast yesterday let
alone recall which one of over a good few hundred starts stood out from all of the rest! I hope you enjoy reading about
the one I finally chose and which was the subject of an Interview with my good friend, Geoffrey Thomas, just recently.

Tony Trimmer was my mechanic for two years; he was a major asset to me and was without doubt the best F3 mechanic around
in those times. One day we had a gearbox ratio problem and needed to change them before a race. Tony set a new record
that day by changing ratios in a Hewland gearbox in 17 minutes flat!
Tony went on to be a fine driver in his own right and one year won the Monaco F3 race. We are good friends to this day.
